How often do I need my boiler serviced?

Central heating boilers will generally prove to be very reliable providing that you take care of them by adhering to the service schedule and ensuring that the work is carried out by qualified engineers such as Interglow. When carrying out your boiler service, we will always use the recommended parts and follow the manufactures procedures for your boiler. Whether it is a Gas, Oil or LPG, a residential boiler or commercial it is recommended that it is serviced on an annual basis.

We also offer annual service contracts to domestic and commercial customers at a discounted rate, saving you money on your servicing. Please contact us to discuss this further.

What boilers do you service?

Our central heating engineers are fully qualified and registered with Gas Safe and OFTEC which allows us to work on all types of the following boilers:

- Gas
- Oil

Included in this are Condensing Boilers, standard Combustion Boilers, Warm Air Heating Boilers and Back Boilers. We are also able to service Gas Fires and similar heaters, to find out if we can service your appliance please contact us.

How long does it take?

Whether you are a residential or a commercial customer, we will be able to service or repair your boiler quickly and efficiently. A typical service for a standard domestic boiler starts at £65.00 +VAT and takes around 1 and 1/2 hours to complete. This includes:

- Gas or Oil Services Tightness Check and inspection for leaks
- Safety Cut Off Device Check
- Oil Fuel Tank Check for leaks (applicable to oil/propane/LPG)
- Check for good Ventilation/Air Flow
- Check the Flue is working correctly
- Burner Operation and Setup
- Check the seals on the Boiler, replace as required
- Combustion Efficiency Check and printed report
- Clean of the Heat Exchanger
- Replace Filters as required

After every service a certificate and report is given to you and if applicable the boiler service schedule is signed for your records.

Commercial or specialist boilers may take longer to complete, we will advise you of the service duration with your quote.

My heating is broken, can you help?

No matter how well you maintain your boiler, like all things with moving parts and extremes of heat, sometimes things can break but you can rely on Interglow to be there.

For emergencies out of office hours please call the above number which will automatically direct your call to our emergency breakdown service.

The vast majority of heating breakdowns or problems can be fixed quickly, often within an hour. We keep in stock a large selection of common parts for most domestic boilers and where a specific part is required, we have a strong relationship with our suppliers who aim to deliver parts to us within two working days.

In such situations where a part has to be ordered in, we will rearrange a convenient time with you to return and fit the part.
